Meet Your Instructor
Hi, my name is Brad Valentine, and I've been playing drums since I was 8 years old. Growing up, I studied weekly under professional drummers, and by middle school I was already performing in ensembles. In high school I competed on the WHS drum line and percussion ensemble in WGI, DCI, and SCPA divisions — winning multiple championships along the way. I went on to study at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music, where I earned a Bachelor's in Composition. I still perform regularly and continue advancing my own skills as a drummer to this day. Teaching is something I'm genuinely passionate about. I love working with students from all backgrounds and ages — whether you've never touched a drumstick or you're looking to take your playing to the next level. My students make fast progress because I tailor every lesson to where you are and where you want to go. Outside of music, I'm an uncle, an animal lover, and an active member of Pittsburgh's local music and arts scene. I'd love to bring lessons to your home and be part of your musical journey.
I’d Recommend Brad to anyone who wants to learn to play the Drums regardless of age or skill level he’s a professional teacher
- Troy
As 40yo with no musical background who wanted to start drumming lessons after my young son decided he wanted to start playing, I was pretty apprehensive about what it would it be like. Working with Brad has been such a great experience. He’s always happy to meet me at my level, though he’s clearly very talented for those who need a higher level of instruction. He does a great job of adapting his teaching techniques to what he feels works best for me and according to the feedback he’s getting from me. I plan on being a long time client!
